Foodee snack box 1-1

For the past month, I’ve been receiving weekly Foodee snack boxes, a new program created by the Vancouver-based food service company to deliver high quality, nutritious snacks throughout Canada.

The weekly boxes were delivered through my mail slot (or by the side of the door in a hidden area), and contained a variety of savoury and sweet mixes to enjoy.

Unlike other local food delivery services, Foodee is focused on snack foods. Ethically-produced ingredients in the boxes contain no additives or animal-based products, making them ideal for gluten-free lifestyles.

The snack names of the pilot program were fun and original and included Mexican Hot Chocolate, Thai Express, Hawaiian Surf and Pumpkin Spiced Latte.

Foodee weekly snacks were fun to receive, but as a company that listens to their customers, over time the weekly snack box frequency wasn’t working, so now they’ve moved to a monthly format with larger snack packages and more options. As well, many snacks in the new program are vegan.

From $33 to $97 per month, subscribers can get an entire box of snacks to feed a solo snacker, family, or office. They’re appropriately titled Personal ($33/month, serves 1-2 people), Family ($67/month, serves 3-6 people), and Bounty ($97/month, products for 7+ folks).

The website allows for quick sign-up and the chance to upgrade or downgrade at will.

My first Foodee delivery arrived this week and contained an assortment of goodies: Hippie granola, coconut chips, Veggie Krunch, gourmet glazed maple nut almonds, hemp iced tea, and various sweets (free of corn syrup and other modifiers).

Being hungry often leads people in the wrong direction when it comes to buying snacks. This way, I know I’m eating something that’s healthy and some of these products I’ve not yet seen on the shelves either.

Regular shipments are made around the 12th of each month via Canada Post and arrive at your door within one to five days, depending on where you’re based. Vancouver Foodee snack box customers will obviously get a faster turnaround time. I’ve been told that international shipping is set to launch in the near future.

If this sounds appealing to you, I’ve a 50% discount code to get you started with your first box. Type ARIANECDESIGN into the Get Snack Box order form (you’ll find a spot to fill in the code in Step 3), and be on your way to healthier snacks. Code expires April 30.

Note: if applying discount to the Personal size box, shipping is not included (as noted in the pricing). Family and Bounty boxes normally cover shipping, so you’d get free shipping with those two sizes.

Disclosure: I received several weekly Foodee snack boxes as well as the new, larger-size format Personal box for the purpose of testing and reviewing the service.
