The University Women’s Club of Vancouver will present its 40th Annual Christmas at Hycroft this year from November 15 to 18 in support of both the club and its work. UWCV provides generous scholarships and bursaries, advocates local, national, and international policies, and maintains the gorgeous grounds and buildings of Hycroft, a designated Heritage house.

Leading up to the holiday season, UWCV members open Hycroft annually for everyone’s enjoyment of the Edwardian mansion, including handmade and unique holiday ornaments, rooms decorated by local businesses, and musicians to get into the holiday spirit.

I’ve enjoyed Hycroft events in the past and have enjoyed photographing this beautiful architectural wonder in Shaughnessy.

On the second floor, visitors can shop for gifts from around the world in the charity boutiques while a juried artisan village features the talent of local artisans. The second floor also hosts an art gallery and silent auction of art work.

Hycroft’s Christmas shop will be open on the main floor for exquisite decorations and wreaths. Don’t miss the culinary creations made by club members and sold in the coach house.

In addition, there will be raffle prizes, and kids can meet and have their photo taken with Santa. Bring your own camera and take photos for a $5 donation.

A Christmas bistro with light meals and refreshments will complete the holiday atmosphere.
