Spanish award-winning performer Angeles Gabaldón is one of many national and local artists set to entertain Vancouver for the 23rd annual Vancouver International Flamenco Festival. Both Flamenco Rosario’s Artistic Director Rosario Ancer and Musical Director Victor Kolstee are proud to bring this talented performer to Vancouver’s growing flamenco community.
Having performed on all seven continents, Gabaldón’s dancing fuses the most passionate aspects of Flamenco with the elegance of classical Spanish dance.
Gabaldón’s work is a combination of her great restlessness and a strong sense of the necessity towards self-improvement that have allowed her, step by step, to find, shape a unique style that stands out from the rest of contemporary flamenco artists.
The festival presents flamenco artists performing in a range of styles: traditional, contemporary, soloists and ensemble works. The Vancouver International Flamenco Festival will take the audience on a journey from flamenco’s origins as a blend of cultures through to today’s continual evolution of music, song, and dance.
