Verus Art

Have you ever dreamt of owning a Monet or Van Gogh to hang in your living room? The prospect of owning a masterpiece has been unachievable for most art lovers — until now. We were recently introduced to Verus Art, a unique new way to experience cherished works of art.

Verus Art

Using world-leading capabilities in 3D scanning and elevated printing, Verus Art produces 3D re-creations of some of the world’s greatest masterpieces.

Partnering with world-renowned museums, Verus Art already offers a number of famous paintings from some of the most notable artists in history, including Van Gogh, Cézanne, Monet, Gauguin and Degas, with exciting new additions in the pipeline.

Scan data records detail as fine as 1/10th of a human hair for depth, colour and saturation. Each master proof is compared to the original before being authorized and certified by the museum.

Verus Art’s technology can be adjusted for faded colours or inconsistencies over time, translating to a recreation closer to the original. This precision helps to ensure that the viewer can consume the piece exactly as the artist initially intended.

Many art lovers who’ve not yet had the chance to travel to see masterpieces housed in museums around the world are now getting their chance.

Thanks to Verus Art, museum collections have become accessible to everyone, bringing to life pieces that otherwise would never see the light of day (many key art collections are held in vaults by museums and for various reasons, including fragility, never get displayed).

By preserving 3D scans of these masterpieces as data, Verus Art is also helping to support the art community. Museums gain access to the data and could re-create these pieces again if required.

Partial proceeds of Verus Art goes back to museums to support art education funds, notable because many of these images are no longer under copyright and as such, there’s no fee required for various poster and postcard style reprints you often see of these legendary pieces.

Best part of all, you can touch the art! As part of the 3D experience, there’s no line on the ground keeping you four feet from the artwork.

Verus Art encourages you to not only view the art, but to interact with it. Families are encouraged to visit the exhibitions and inspire a new generation of art enthusiasts.

Verus Art will definitely be a part of not only Vancouver’s, but the world’s art scene in the future. We can’t wait to see how their work unfolds.
