Vancouver TheatreSports™ League (VTSL) kicks off its new summer show, TripImproviser, on Thursday, July 3. Inspired by suggestions from the audience and TripAdvisor reviews, the new show will parody travel experiences. From city to jungle, bungee jumping to bird watching, the possibilities are endless as the show’s completely improvised and therefore totally unpredictable.

VTSL understands the value of traveler reviews, as TripAdvisor users frequently recommend The Improv Centre as a great spot to catch some of the best improv comedy in the city. In fact, VTSL has received TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence – which honours hospitality businesses that consistently achieve outstanding traveler reviews on TripAdvisor – for the past three consecutive years. With TripImproviser, VTSL’s talented performers will find the funny in travel experiences, be it audience suggestions or online reviews.

Each night, a host will interview audience members to ask where they’re from or to share memorable travel experiences. The host may also search TripAdvisor for inspiration. VTSL’s Mainstage Ensemble will then re-enact the action onstage through scenes, songs and montages. From around the corner to around the world, with TripImproviser, there’s no telling where the laughter will lead this summer.

TripImproviser is a light-hearted comedy perfect for visitors to Vancouver or locals with a travel story to share,” says VTSL Artistic Director Denise Jones. “Each night we’ll spoof the pitfalls and joys that happen to us all when we travel.”
