Fringe 2010 poster wall

As September approaches, our city starts to gear up for new theatre seasons and festivals. The Vancouver Fringe Festival is nearly here, with over 600 performances by 89 artists over an 11-day period. Featuring site-specific theatre as well as traditional venue shows, this year the Fringe will take place from September 5 to 15. Pick up or download a Program Guide, mark your shows, and for the 29th year running, get set to Fringe!

I’ve partnered with both the Vancouver Fringe Festival and Edible Canada to offer a lucky reader and their guest a chance at a great prize pack valued at nearly $200! Our winner will get the following:

Granville Island Market Tour for Two
Edible Canada’s signature tour provides the opportunity for both locals and visitors to learn about and experience BC’s most visited and best-known public market. Put yourself in the experienced and knowledgeable hands of Edible Canada’s culinary professionals and learn the secrets and the best places to shop.

Granville Public Market produce

The centerpiece of the island experience is the Granville Island Public Market, with a diverse array of vendors, irresistible green grocers, butchers, bakers, fishmongers, cheese specialists, sweets stands, and casual eateries. Just outside the market are many local artisans as well as a wine shop, a micro roaster of organic coffee, the Netloft and Canada’s only artisan sake distillery. The tour for two people is valued at $89.00, is valid seven days a week, and winner will need to book 24 hours in advance (tour will go on with two or more registered guests).

I just love hanging out at Granville Island for the day. Fish and chips for lunch, wander around and explore all the little artisan shops, then pick up groceries from Granville Island Market and cook it for dinner. That’s a perfect Vancouver Sunday for me.
