While Vancouver’s second annual Mural Festival wraps up on Saturday, September 2, another cool art event is ready to unfold: Façade Festival!

The Burrard Arts Foundation, in partnership with the Vancouver Art Gallery is kicking off the fall season with 10 contemporary Canadian artists that will work their visual magic onto Vancouver Art Gallery’s façade.

Façade Festival 2017 is the third edition of this exciting annual public art extravaganza, joining the ranks of such internationally renowned arts festivals as VIVID in Sydney and Nuit Blanche in Toronto (a festival I had the pleasure of attending last fall).

An array of colourful images will be projected onto the gallery’s Georgia Street side from September 4 to 10, 7:30 to midnight each evening.

SPECIAL EVENTS

Saturday, September 9, 3 pm: Behind the Lights: The Making of Façade Festival, courtroom 302. The public is invited to attend.
