Travel Essential: Delsey Volume Max 25" Expandable Spinner

Thinking of a new suitcase for a late-summer getaway or upcoming winter escape? We’ve been fans of French luggage brand Delsey for years (they’ve been at the top of their game for over seven decades). Their suitcases are durable, lightweight and easy to pack (we use packing cubes for the small stuff).

Delsey’s Volume Max Expandable Spinner (available in 25” and 29” sizes) is constructed with lightweight, durable MicroBallistec™. There’s four spinner wheels to help it glide around busy airports, train stations and around town.

What I like about the expandable spinner is ease of use with hotel room luggage racks, especially when you’re on trips that involve several hotels in one trip. It’s much easier to get in and out of than a “clamshell” (two-sided hard-case). Clamshell suitcases are ideal for one-time unpacking though!

This one features three front pockets plus a back pocket to stow magazines or paperwork. The interior contains shoe pockets plus a mesh organizer pocket.

I really like Delsey’s attention to design detail and this suitcase is no exception. There’s even a hidden pull-out luggage tag on its side.

Along the top and side handles are cushioned neoprene; the corners boast additional protection and skid tapes to help where the suitcase is most handled.

Both 25” (CAD $159.99) and 29” ($179.99) uprights expand for additional packing space (it’s also available in a 19” carry-on spinner size at CAD $129.99).

I hadn’t ever considered a purple suitcase but this one will surely be easier to spot in the never-ending sea of black trolleys on the luggage belt.
