Therapy Vineyards Guesthouse-1

The modern and comfortable Therapy Vineyards Guesthouse gave us a base for our recent Naramata Bench trip. The guesthouse is located towards the northern end of the Bench, nestled in between westward-facing slopes, vineyards, and stunning views of Okanagan Lake.

A further five minute drive north brings you to tiny Naramata village with its Wharf Park and handful of shops.

Therapy has eight guest rooms: three on the top floor, five on the bottom. There’s a common area with television and game room, full kitchen, and washroom that the guesthouse offers for group and retreat stays.

We slept in the comfortable Meritage Suite downstairs that consisted of a cozy room separated from our bedroom by a shared fireplace. The bedroom has a cabinet with a TV, and free wifi is located throughout the house.

A BBQ and jacuzzi are available for guest use; we enjoyed a couple of relaxing soaks (with a glass of Therapy Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc) from this very spot (above photo).

The gently-sloping surrounding hillsides and serene nature gave us a sensation of space and tranquility, which is just what was needed after a hard day of wine tasting. Out here, time slows down and electronic gadgets make less of an appearance with each passing day.

Each room has its own entry, semi-private patio, ensuite bathroom, TV, clock radio, phone and wine fridge. Therapy’s humour is carried out by way of branded white lab micro-fibre coats posing as bath robes.

The king size bed that we slept on is known in the industry as a “Heavenly Bed“, made popular by the Westin Hotel Group. There’s also a bath tub with a large rain shower fixture above. The guesthouse encourages reuse of bath towels and we noticed a recycle bin for papers near the closet.

Our living room could accommodate another couple with the pull out queen couch. The windows all have screens on them, including the sliding balcony door. The cool, fresh Okanagan breeze came through at night, giving us some deep, awesome sleeps while we were there.

Therapy Vineyards Guesthouse breakfast

Breakfast is served at around 9 am, served continental style with coffee or tea. One morning, we had a delicious assortment of scones, muffins, and banana bread; another day, our plate was laden with cheeses, meats, and toast. The guesthouse has a contract with a nearby gourmet market, so food is brought in each morning according to the number of guests at the house.

Therapy Guesthouse can also be rented out for groups and retreats as mentioned above. During the winter months, the winery plans to host weekend cooking retreats as well as yoga retreats.

Apex Ski Resort is in the area, and guests at Therapy can get all-day pass discounts. With advance notice, the guesthouse can also prepare breakfasts, packed lunches, catered dinners, wine tours, reserved hot tub sessions, and massage, from 2 to 22 people. As well, guests receive a discount on purchases at the wine tasting room.

If you’re looking for a very peaceful getaway with wineries at your doorstep, this is a great spot in the heart of the Okanagan. Penticton is a 15 minute drive away, offering more dining options, banks, etc. The staff are friendly, helpful, and easy-going, making our stay all the more pleasant.

Therapy Vineyards Guesthouse is located 15 minutes Northeast of Penticton at 940 Debeck Road in Naramata Bench, BC.

Our stay was compliments of Therapy Vineyard Guesthouse. Opinions, as always, are our own.
