Room to Read, Zambia

Imagine a world in which all children are able to pursue a quality education, reach their full potential and contribute to the community around them.

Global organization Room to Read establishes libraries, builds schools, publishes local-language children’s books, trains teachers and supports girls so that they can complete secondary school with the life skills necessary to succeed in school and beyond.

15 years ago, Room to Read began as a humble book drive hoping to fill a library in Nepal with child-appropriate literature. Today, their reach is worldwide, combining business principles from the private sector with best practices and industry-leading research from the non-profit sector. To date, they’ve made a positive impact on the lives of over 10 million children worldwide.
