The PNE Summer Night Concerts is one of the most popular annual concert series in Western Canada. Look for an eclectic mix of country, rock, and 80’s pop at this year’s Fair. The PNE has expanded its live music program to introduce the WestJet Family Fun Series, afternoon concerts featuring entertainment for the whole family.
“The Fair at the PNE is thrilled to bring some of music’s most beloved acts to the 2012 Fair at the PNE as part of the Summer Night Concerts line-up,” said PNE’s Creative Director, Patrick Roberge. “This year, we have expanded our entertainment concert footprint with an all-new afternoon program. The WestJet Family Fun Series will build upon the popular Summer Night Concerts and carry on the PNE’s proud tradition of family-focused entertainment and legendary musical performances.”
The PNE is owned by the City of Vancouver and sees over three million visitors a year pass through its doors to enjoy cultural, sporting, and family entertainment events. It was founded in 1910, currently existing as a non profit charity organization. Its 114 acres located next to Hastings Racecourse offers hockey, amateur sporting, music, community, social, cultural and commercial events throughout the year.
Summer Night Concerts
The Summer Night Concerts run every evening from August 18 to September 3 (8 pm) and will include an all-star lineup of country musicians, pop stars, and classic rock artists from around the world. Olivia Newton-John, Heart, and Rick Springfield are some of this year’s highlights.
WestJet Family Fun Series
The WestJet Family Fun Series kicks off on August 22 and will take place every afternoon at 2 pm on the WestJet Concert Stage.
Entrance to both WestJet Family Fun Series and Summer Night Concerts are free with admission to the Fair.
