Passions 2018 Vancouver

On September 26 at Performance Works, Passions will bring 20 of Vancouver’s best chefs together to create mouth-watering dishes to sample with proceeds going to Dr. Peter AIDS Foundation’s Day Health Program.

Vancouver chefs

Vancouver chefs are passionate about creating beautiful food. They’re also passionate about ensuring that some our most vulnerable community members receive compassionate care.

Each year, this wonderful community of chefs show their love by serving up some of their most delicious creations for Vancouver food lovers. It’s a great way for locals to meet the chefs and sample their signature taste. This year’s event will be emceed by Global TV anchor Sophie Lui with celebrity auctioneer Fred Lee.

Passions has raised an invaluable $1.4 million in support of compassionate care at the Dr. Peter Centre. Funds raised support 80,000 meals served at the Centre annually. The Centre currently services over 300 clients in the Day Health Program.

Bittered Sling

The history of Passions dates back to 2002, to a small charity cooking class at Barbara-Jo’s Books to Cooks. The event was later moved to the Dr. Peter Centre and titled Passions. Organized by Vancouver food media personality Nathan Fong, the inaugural event featured nine chefs, 100 attendees and raised $7,000.

“To have such an incredible group of culinary professionals, sponsors, and volunteers dedicating their time to making this event a success year after year is a testament to Dr. Peter and his legacy,” added Nathan Fong, Passions founder and committee co-chair with Michael Barker-Fyfe.
