Getting on the road with easy-to-pack and wear pieces for women is a joy when outfitters like Royal Robbins have comfort and durability in mind. We recently picked out a few pieces from their spring and summer collection.
The ESSENTIAL TENCEL MONROE DRESS comes in Jet Black and Aster (a bold fuchsia colour). It’s got a standard fit and is 37” in length with a slightly-cinched side and long sleeves. The wrinkle-resistant, quick-dry Tencel® stretch jersey adds moisture wicking with spandex to retain its shape over time.
The Monroe contains 62% polyester, 33% Tencel® Lyocell made from renewably-sourced wood pulp and 5% spandex.
Royal Robbins designed this classic dress with two-way and four-way stretch fabrics for greater motion so you can get about travelling without feeling constrained. It’s an easy piece that can go from brunch at the pool or patio to a casual cocktail party.
Another bonus: built-in UPF sun protection helps reduce UV radiation exposure. Available in XS to XL at CAD $85/US $75.
The TUPELO FALLS CARDI is a sweet little easy-going top for cool spring and summer nights. You can wear it open or buttoned as a cowl neck wrap.
Two dark-toned wooden buttons at the shoulders loop into the ends of the linen cardigan to create the cowl neck effect.
It’s a lightweight piece that can be added into a tote bag for those days that toggle between warm and cool. Mine’s in Holstein (an oatmeal shade – note the lighting in the photos makes it look more grey!); other colour choices are deep blue and moon (cool grey). Make sure to hand wash and lay flat to dry.
I found little need for ironing although the instructions allow for a cool iron. This standard fit everyday top comes in sizes XS to XL and retails for CAD $95/US $75.
A summery little top is always a great staple in any wardrobe. I really love the COOL MESH BATIK CAMP SHIRT as it can be worn two ways — the shoulder tabs convert from a tank to a slight sleeve.
This shirt is designed for hot and humid climates, its all-cotton fabric adding breathability via an open-mesh construction. And just like the Tencel Monroe Dress, an additional zipped pocket above the right hip is great for carrying cash and a credit card when you don’t need to carry a purse.
This cute patterned top can be dressed up with a flowing skirt or down with capris or shorts.
The shirt is lightweight and well ventilated so I’m sure it’ll be joining me on my tropical adventures down the road. The Cool Mesh Batik Camp Shirt is machine washable (in cold water), comes in light khaki and deep blue in sizes XS to XL and retails for CAD $70/US $55.
Royal Robbins ships within the US (free with orders over $99) and their online store indicator includes a searchable Canadian retailer page by postal code. Visit Royal Robbins online for the complete spring/summer lineup and ordering info.
