Secrid Miniwallet

Summer’s winding down, and with that, we’re starting to look at products that will keep us productive indoors (and in some cases, entertained on the road), from yoga mats to tiny, yet powerful USB speakers.

Lexon Mino Portable Bluetooth Speaker

Lexon Mino Portable Bluetooth Speaker

If you’re not familiar with Lexon, in 1991, they launched a line of beautifully innovative products and continue to work with designers around the globe. Their multi-award-winning pieces have graced shops from New York’s Museum of Modern Art to Vancouver’s own Room in Order.

Lexon Mino

Designed by Manuela Simonelli and Andrea Quaglio, the tiny, fits-in-the-palm-of-your-hand, aluminum Mino Bluetooth speaker is an amazing feat of technology, delivering 3 watts using TWS stereo technology. I hadn’t expected the speaker to be *this* small and couldn’t imagine that it would deliver decent quality sound, but we were surprised to find out that yes, it does the job!

Lexon Mino-2

You can pair it with a second Mino for a true stereo, 6-watt experience, and control music and podcasts from your Bluetooth 4.2-enabled digital devices. There’s a button on the bottom that both turns on the speaker and allows for taking a selfie with your smart phone. An additional feature is using it as a hands-free mic.

A three-hour battery life and one-hour charge time is achieved via the USB-A port (cable included). The range is 10 meters. We only wish it would come with a travel pouch, as we definitely plan on taking this little guy on our upcoming travels.

Lexon Peashub-3

The hub is available in White, Dark Blue, Grey, Mastic (off-white), Plum and Dark Green.

Chilewich Origami-3

Chilewich Origami Placemat

Chilewich founder/designer Sandy Chilewich’s textiles have graced homes and restaurants around the world. Sandy and her team continually strive to source new materials that “combine beauty and functionality and use under-utilized manufacturing processes that with design input can be modernized”.

Chilewich Origami

Chilewich placemats and table runners form their core product line, and though it was hard to choose a pair of place mats from the vast collection, we found that the Origami rectangle placemats worked well with our space. The modular, coloured shapes appear to float, framed by raw edges that give this high-contrast design a hand-drawn look.

Chilewich Origami-2

Chilewich placemats are produced in a large variety of weaves in colours; all are designed in-house at their New York City studio.
