Van Dame White ISA

Van Dame White ISA is the latest summer release by Kevin Emms, Granville Island Brewing’s new brewmaster. Emms has married a traditional Belgian Witbier with a West coast style India Session Ale. It’s got a lovely amber colour containing pepper, coriander and orange peel. Added to the recipe are guava and citrus.

With a traditional wit base, Van Dame uses Australian Ella hops and produces this limited-edition brew with dry-hopping and hop bursting, adding a boost of flavour without the bitterness. After a few sips, this beer grew on us, and is especially refreshing in hot weather.

We paired it with salmon and corn off the BBQ. With 4.5 alc/volume, this beer’s not shy on taste. Find it in 650 ml bottles at select government and private liquor stores as well as GIB’s retail store on Granville Island.
