Knucklehead Pumpkin Ale

Back in the Cannery Brewing Company lineup this fall is Knucklehead Pumpkin Ale. The pumpkins are grown locally for the brewery by Harker’s Organics in Cawston, BC.

Knucklehead is a type of pumpkin “distinguished by its gnarly warts”, hence the brilliant label design by Okanagan-based artist/designer Myron Campbell.

Cannery roasts the pumpkins with brown sugar for sweetness then brews them with traditional fall spices for the true flavour of the season.

We like the sweet pumpkin/caramel taste and find the spice level pleasantly mild, not overpowering in this beautifully amber-hued seasonal.

Knucklehead Pumpkin Ale’s available in limited-release 650ml bottles throughout BC including Firefly, Legacy Liquor Store, Libations and Darby’s in Vancouver.
