The crowd at Shady Grove

Hot off the heels of the Vancouver Folk Music Festival comes the 24th Annual Mission Folk Music Festival. Set to kick off with tomorrow evening’s gala, this weekend will feature musicians from around the globe, performing at Fraser River Heritage Park.

New this year is the world premiere of the Tune-Able Dance Floor – a one-of-a-kind creation by Matt Gordon in collaboration with the festival’s Artistic Director, Francis Xavier Edwards. This portable 4’ x 8’ platform is a work of art, with three distinct resonating boxes and tuning mechanisms.

The festival features an art market, licensed bistro, food booths and CD and festival souvenir tents. It’s a relaxed, joyous festival full of small-town friendliness and some of the most amazing music you’re likely to find anywhere.
