Lionfish Entertainment is pleased to announce its inaugural production The Last Five Years running February 4 to 14 at The PAL Studio Theatre.

Jamie Wellerstein is a rising novelist and Cathy Hiatt is a struggling actress in Jason Robert Brown’s Drama Desk winner The Last Five Years, an emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years.

Danny Balkwill Diana Kaarina

Starring Danny Balkwill and Diana Kaarina, The Last Five Years uses a form of storytelling in which Cathy’s story is told in reverse chronological order (beginning the show at the end of the marriage), and Jamie’s is told in chronological order (starting just after the couple have first met). The two characters don’t directly interact except for a wedding song in the middle of the play as their timelines intersect.

Translated into a handful of languages and named one of Time Magazine’s 10 best shows of 2001, The Last Five Years enjoyed an Off-Broadway revival at Second Stage in 2013 and a film adaptation is being released in 2014 starring Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordan.
