LOccitane

Luxurious fragrances, soothing hand lotions, relaxing bath salts and scented candles — just a few of our favourite things to gift during the holiday season. We partnered with L’Occitane Canada to feature a few splurges for your favourite someone this time of year — and are offering up a his ’n’ hers cologne duo for one lucky reader (read on for details!).

Aromachologie Relaxing Bath Salts

Aromachologie Relaxing Bath Salts

Open up a jar of L’Occitane’s Aromachologie Relaxing Bath Salts and you’re immediately greeted with the soft, subtle scent combination of lavender, bergamot, mandarin, sweet orange and geranium.

L’Occitane’s new Aromachologie body care collection combines essential oils in its products to deliver maximum nourishment to your skin. The traditional fleur de sel crystals are harvested from southern France’s Camargue region. A sprinkle of these salts into my bath along with a lit candle on the bathroom counter has become my perfect cold weather ritual. These beautifully scented salts come in a 300-gram glass container. CAD $26

Shea Violet Hand Cream

Limited Edition 2016 Shea Violet Hand Cream

L’Occitane celebrates 40 years in the industry by paying tribute to women in Burkina Faso who harvest and process shea nuts by crushing and grinding them to yield shea butter (shea is a key player in Burkina Faso’s economy; L’Occitane has maintained a sustainable and fair-trade partnership with the women in this region since the 1980’s).

This violet-perfumed, limited edition tube contains a palette of pinks and purples to mark the occasion. L’Occitane’s nourishing hand cream contains 20% shea butter combined with honey, coconut oil and almond extracts. Being outdoors in winter takes a toll on my hands; the handy travel size can easily pack into a purse or backpack for protection with an added bit of scent. CAD $12

Winter Forest Scented Candle

Winter Forest Scented Candle

This candle smells of sweet pine with woodsy notes, perfect for bringing the crisp outdoors inside. L’Occitane avoids the use of alcohol, BHA, BHT, EDTA, formol, formaldehyde, synthetic colorants and triclosan in their candles, so you can feel good about gifting them. The 100 g candle will burn for about 18 to 20 hours. CAD $22

Limited Ed Shea Butter Hand Cream

Shea Butter Hand Cream For Dry Hands

L’Occitane’s Shea Butter Hand Cream is non-greasy and applies nice and thick to give hands an extra boost of moisture in dry climates with a mild scent that won’t overpower. I’ve taken the travel-friendly (30 ml) version on long-haul flights to give my hands some needed relief from dryness. The 150 ml size will last for months (my husband and I normally go through one of these about every 10 months or so). CAD $32

CONTEST TIME! To celebrate the holidays, we’re giving away two amazing fragrances to one lucky Vancouverscape reader (valued at $150):

Arlesienne cologne

Inspired by the iconic ribbon tradition in Arles, Arlésienne Eau de Toilette contains a delicate yet bold floral fragrance that captures the essence of the woman of Arles and the beauty of Provence. A celebration of femininity and refinement, this timeless, multifaceted fragrance boasts a rich blend of rose, sweet violet and saffron with the enveloping scent of white musk.

Cedrat eau de toilette

Refreshing, masculine and full of character, L’Homme Cologne Cédrat blends citrus notes of cedrat with icy notes of mint and cold spices. Head notes of cedrat peel and frosted mint combine with scents of violet leaf and lavender. Black pepper, pink peppercorn and ginger give a spicy touch. Finally, deep, woody notes of cedar, amber and musk soften the strong personality of this fragrance. Cedrat essential oil from Corsica enhances this fragrance with zesty notes.
