In an average lifetime, the human heart beats more than two and a half billion times, without ever pausing to rest.

Heart As Arena, a new full-length work from Dana Gingras, explores receptivity, transmission, and the secret language of electricity that animates heart, mind, and muscle. This production focuses on the physical aspects of the heart, creating a choreographic language that manifests itself through the bodies of the performers. While exploring these qualities, Heart As Arena also aims to peel off the tired cultural clichés that both surround and suffocate the heart.

The Cultch is proud to feature Dana Gingras’ boundary-pushing production for a limited run in early October.
