Arcade Fire photo pit

Jockeying for a position last weekend in the photo pit at Squamish Valley Music Festival proved a challenge by the time headlining act Arcade Fire made it onto the stage for their 90-minute set.

Fans were packed behind the barricades for as far as the eye could see—we were also packed in shoulder-to-shoulder for our “first three songs”.

Win Butler-1

Launching into their show, the band got the fans going with Joan of Arc and then, in a completely random moment, lead singer Win Butler got in on the fun by taking a photographer’s camera and turning it onto the audience!

A fine rock ’n’ roll moment, albeit it a frantic one for Rebecca Blissett, who was hoping for nothing more than its safe return into her hands.

The photo pit gets lots more fun when Win Butler takes a Nikon for a spin at #vmsquamish #lowrezversion

A picture is indeed worth a thousand words. Rawk on, Arcade Fire!
