PechaKucha Vancouver will be participating in Global PechaKucha Day by hosting a smaller show (in its familiar 20×20 format) at the Cascade Room on Main Street.

In the aftermath of last month’s devastating earthquake, PechaKucha Headquarters in Tokyo is planning a global initiative to raise money for the re-building effort. Many of the 400 PechaKucha cities will host a presentation on April 16, with all proceeds going to Architecture For Humanity. A similar event last year helped raised money for the rebuilding of a school in Haiti, following a disaster there.

Theme: Inspire Japan

The 20×20 presentations will be focused on four main themes: Inspire, Japan, The Issues and Recovery.

The presentations could be simply about things that inspire us, or how Japan has inspired you. Think of ideas or solutions that could help the road to recovery with regard to either the earthquake, tsunami, or nuclear meltdown.

Date: April 16, Doors at 4:00; event starts at 4:30

Location: The Cascade Room, 2616 Main Street, Vancouver

Admission is free, with a suggested $10 donation at the door. Limited seating is on a first-come, first-served basis.
All proceeds will benefit Architecture For Humanity’s Rebuild Japan Plans.
