Oakley Escapade technical shirt

Along with the spring sunshine and abundance of colourful flowers comes longer days and less excuses to get out and MOVE. Oakley Canada recently sent me a Strength training tight and Escapade long sleeve training top to wear on my power walks and bike rides around town.

The Strength training tight is both comfortable and supportive, suitable for jogs around the seawall, power yoga sessions, or bike rides. I noticed the reversible design that’s solid on the inside while sporting a pretty wave-like design in several shades of blue on the waistband and leg of the outside.

Also on the solid side of the full-length tight is a small pocket for tucking away keys or bills. The fit is body-hugging with a four-way stretch fabric called O Hydrolix™, serving the dual purpose of wicking away perspiration and preventing overheating in the heat as well as keeping warm in the cold.

I spent the day wearing the Strength tights, noticing the waistband keeps the pants from slipping down the hips. The enhanced stretch is designed to retain the pant’s shape as well.

I admire the simplicity of the construction, especially the articulated knee that offers freedom of movement when bending. Think of them as yoga pants without the wide leg.

The Strength Training Tight retails for $85 and is available in both navy blue and navy blue with jet black.

Oakley Escapade Long sleeve top

The Escapade long sleeve training top contains several knitted-in ventilated areas to keep air flowing when you start to sweat. It’s super soft and wears comfortably (a cross between a looser cotton t-shirt and tight-fitting technical top). Part of the spring collection, the Escapade’s designed for running, cycling, power yoga, and hikes, made of a stretchy nylon fabric that won’t chafe against the skin, incorporating the same O Hydrolix™ technology as the tights.

Seamless with a streamlined look, the bright orange colour goes great with the navy blue tights. For a less bright look, the Escapade is also available in graphite and retails for $65.

That new gear from Oakley looks sharped! It looks like they’re taking a page out of the Lululemon playbook.
