So the holidays have left the building and a new year’s underway. No time like the present to get outdoors and work off a few of those holiday meals. We’ve been checking out some his ’n’ hers Helly Hansen base layering gear to get out onto Vancouver’s seawall for some cycling and power walks as the days begin to grow longer.
These pieces also go great under skiwear as they’re designed to maintain warmth and wick moisture away. We could easily picture wearing these up on the slopes for cross-country skiing at Whistler’s Lost Lake Park trails or for a snowshoe session at Grouse Mountain.
Active Flow LS for Men
Part of Helly Hansen’s Active line, the long-sleeved Active Flow offers a Lifa® Stay Dry Technology via a soft wicking fabric that moves sweat away from the skin, offering winter warm-up comfort.

Men’s Loke Pants
These adventure-ready pants are specifically created with snow in mind: they’re waterproof! They’ll keep you dry in the wind, snow and rain with a breathable construction and adjustable waist. These lightweight, easy-to-pack pants have zippered hand pockets, zippers along the leg past the knee with adjustable velcro tabs at the bottom for a comfortable fit in all seasons.

Women’s Warm Ice Crew
With a two-layer construction that combines Helly Hansen’s Lifa® Stay Dry with 100% Merino wool, this natural fibre-insulated top is super warm yet doesn’t feel bulky, perfect for layering under a fleece or wool sweater. I’ve been wearing mine underneath a Helly Hansen fleece zip-up for heading out on morning power walks.

Women’s Dry Pant
Another Lifa® base layer product, the Dry Pant is lightweight and feels soft against the skin. As you build up sweat in the cold, these leggings-style pants (with cuffs at the bottom) stay dry to keep you warm. The Dry pant is designed for quick-drying, breathability, super-lightweight high performance.
I’ve been wearing them under a pair of Helly Hansen winter tights for an added layer of warmth and occasionally under jeans too!
