Missie Peters

Award-winning spoken word performer Missie Peters is about to land in Granville Island with her Vancouver International Fringe Festival solo show, ‘Where’s My Flying Car?!

In keeping with the space odyssey theme for this year’s Fringe Festival, ‘Flying Car’ is a futuristic romp through the eyes of an array of fascinating characters including a robotic grocery store cashier, a cyborg dancer, and an archaeologist digging for computer parts.

The show combines spoken word, comedy and audience participation into a compelling critique with “an emotional resonance… that even Spock couldn’t deny” John Threfall – Culture Vulture

“I am a huge science fiction geek,” says Peters. “So I’ve always been fascinated by the future. In addition to having fun with classic sci-fi tropes, this show explores why our visions of the future hardly ever match up with our reality. Also, I wear a silver jumpsuit.”
