Join thousands of Vancouverites along Main, East Broadway, and Kingsway for the free Fifth Annual Autumn Shift Festival and Smoking Sausage BBQ Competition Cook-Off, Vancouver’s final street festival of the summer, on Sunday, September 14.

This vibrant community will come together to celebrate the change in seasons as well as the diversity and spirit earning Mount Pleasant “Vancouver’s Coolest Neighbourhood” title. The festival celebrates urban gardening, sustainability, and eating and shopping locally.

The MPBIA, in conjunction with Livable Laneways, The Beaumont Studios, and BLIM markets aim to create a unique festival with three stages showcasing local musicians, DJs, and performers. There will be multiple market areas selling food, clothing, accessories, body care products, home wares, and demonstrations by dance groups and athletic organizations.

Local food vendors and a Barbecue Cook-Off are sure to be festival highlights. The BBQ Cook-Off will take place from 2 to 5 pm. Each BBQ Cook-off contestant will enter with a unique gourmet sausage recipe.

Last year’s winner, Mr. Brownstone, will be defending its championship title against eight and ½ Restaurant, Thyme to Indulge, North West Culinary Academy, The Cascade Room, and Home on the Range Organics.
