Dyson Demo Store Opens in Vancouver

In 2015, Dyson opened its first standalone retail space in Tokyo. Paris, Moscow, Jakarta and London soon followed. In the US, Dyson Demo stores are located in San Francisco, New York City and Washington, DC.

Inside CF Pacific Centre, J. Crew’s former space is now home to a 2,500 square-foot shop showcasing Dyson’s latest tech, from supersonic hairdryers and air purifiers to vacuum machines — Dyson’s flagship product.

The second demo store in Canada (and 155th globally), the minimalist space is designed to encourage people to pick up, test and understand Dyson technology. Interactive demos bring to life the science at the heart of Dyson machines.

A team of employees are trained to give visitors a peek into the UK brand’s latest innovation, and of course to purchase Dyson goods.

In the back of the Dyson Demo store is a dedicated space offering bespoke 45-minute hair styling appointments. There are three styling stations (plus a wash basin on the other side of the partition) for professional blow dries and styling using the Dyson Supersonic hair dryer and Dyson Airwrap styler, both engineered to prevent extreme heat damage.

And if you purchase either the Supersonic or Airwrap, you’ll receive complimentary initial embossing on the product case.

The new space will also give you a chance to learn more about local air quality and how to manage the pollution within your living space. Dyson’s full range of air treatment products are on display and are brought to life using Dyson engineered demonstrations, including the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool, which launched last January.

This combo air purifying fan/heater detects particulate matter and gasses with intelligent sensing and then automatically captures them so they are removed from the air you breathe (see my review below of the Pure Hot+Cool).

In global news, Dyson is shifting company headquarters from the UK to Singapore.
