A very cool little event just slipped into my inbox this morning. To kick off The Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s upcoming performances of Wonderland, the Vancouver Public Library will be screening Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland on Tuesday, March 1, at 7:30 pm. The event is free and will be held at the Alice MacKay Room at the Central Library. Address is 350 West Georgia Street and seating is limited.

After the screening, Georgia Straight film critic Mark Harris will discuss how Lewis Carroll’s story paved the way for filmmakers such as Burton to bring this fantasy literature to screen.

The event is sponsored in tandem by the Royal Winnipeg Ballet and the Vancouver Public Library.

Find out more about the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Wonderland on their website. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster starting at $34 and the ballet performances run March 24-27.
