We use Burnaby, BC-based Doteasy to host Vancouverscape.com. We’re proud to support local businesses and are inspired by their initiatives that directly impact our community.
Last year, Doteasy launched their Bright Future Scholarship to encourage students to experience the value of having a website for their career path. Having your own website is a vital asset for any career—it provides a way to showcase a portfolio and demonstrate key skills for today’s market.
By creating a scholarship that supports three high school graduates not just financially, but with the hosting needed to build a website, Doteasy aims to help students create an online presence that moves them towards their goals.
The scholarship contest is back this year and is open to all Canadian high school seniors.
Doteasy Bright Future Scholarship
PRIZES
First Place: $1,000 towards tuition + one year domain name and hosting services
Runner Up: $750 towards tuition + one year domain name and hosting services
Second Place: $500 towards tuition + one year domain name and hosting services
Who is Eligible
The contest is open to all Canadian students in their final year of high school.

How to Enter
Send an email to scholarship@doteasy.com. In the body of the email, include:
– Your name, current secondary school and your intended field of study
– A 300 to 500 word essay describing your career goals and why having an online presence would help you on your journey
– A letter of reference from a teacher, principal, employer or community leader
Last but not least, visit Doteasy.com to learn about their services and then indicate in your application which services (hosting and/or add-ons) would best suit you and your needs.
(This answer will not be considered part of the adjudication process, but allows Doteasy to assess the best complimentary hosting resources for each of the three scholarship winners).
A few suggestions to inspire your essay:
– Your career goals
– Steps you’ve already taken towards your goals
– Your intended field of study and proposed path
– How having a website can help you achieve the career you want or help you in your career
Doteasy’s scholarship panel will review the applications to determine the best candidate for each scholarship. Winners will be determined based on the clarity and quality of the essay, the positive qualities mentioned in the reference letter and the ability to complete all requested application materials (as outlined above).
