If you followed my Instagram stories last week, you may have noticed that I spent a cheeky lunch hour at the the Rosewood Hotel Georgia previewing the exclusive new Dior fall/winter beauty collection.
Not only are these beautiful products coming into stores across North America at the moment, but many are limited-edition and are stunning to give as holiday gifts!
I’ve focused on three collections for this feature: Maison Christian Dior, Dior Midnight Wish 2018 Holiday Collection, and Dior Backstage.
Maison Christian Dior
We had the chance to smell some of Maison Dior’s newly-launched line of fragrance as well as perfumed soaps and candles.

From Grasse to Paris, Dior Master Perfumer François Demachy benefits from the finest flowers and the rarest ingredients to nourish his boundless creativity. His fragrances are pictorial, sensual and dedicated to a love of raw materials, as well as being evocative of the Dior world. There’s a vibrant story behind each scent.
[Rose Gipsy]
Soft pink Rose Gipsy is an ode to Grasse’s queen of flowers; sparkling green Lucky reveals a modern Lily of the Valley that is somewhat hidden; golden Jasmin des Anges is a call for self-indulgence, while soft violet Dioramour is like a powdered caress. And when asked to describe Maison Christian Dior, Demachy delivers an answer of two words: “Shared emotions”.
[Figue Méditerranée]
The candles offer 70-hours of gorgeous scent, crafted by world-renowned French wax manufacturers Perron Right and housed in a Limoges porcelain pot with a Dior grey enamel interior. Newcomers to the lineup are Jardin d’Orangers and Figue Méditerranée, together with 30 Montaigne, Bois Brûlé and several more luscious scents to choose from.

As for the soaps, crafted in France at the Savonnerie de Haute-Provence, there are three scents – Rose Ispahan, Néroli Impérial and Amande Délicieuse – with more to be added in the future.
Limited Edition 2018 Collection
We were also introduced to the Dior Midnight Wish 2018 Holiday Collection, a limited-edition seasonal colour cosmetics collection inspired by Christian Dior’s fascination with luck and destiny. Designed by Peter Philips, Creative and Image Director at Dior Makeup, the lineup features glimmering blushes, jewel-toned lipsticks, eye shadows and sparkling nail shades made for elegant winter soirées.

Diorific, the legendary lip accessory with an Haute Couture finish, debuts in six limited-edition shades ranging from sophisticated nudes to rich burgundies that provide a luminous, long-lasting matte finish.

There’s a new limited edition of Rouge Blush, the couture accessory for your complexion with intense, ultra-pigmented and buildable colour in a texture that fuses with the skin.
Embossed with Christian Dior’s Lucky Star pattern, this warm golden shade dresses the cheeks to both brighten up makeup and add a touch of glamour to your holiday look.

Diorific Vernis
Diorific Vernis reveals four new bright and deep nail colours to pair with your lips for a sophisticated holiday manicure.
Dior Backstage
This is the first makeup line to be inspired by backstage life, also created by Philips. The Dior Backstage collection includes 40 foundation shades, two eye palettes, two eyebrow palettes, a face sculpting palette, highlighting and lip palettes plus 13 brushes (six for foundation, seven for eyes).
The waterproof Face and Body Foundations are available in 40 universal shades and come in a transparent squeeze bottle so you can easily see the shade you’re working with.

The Glow Face Palette contains shades that will both warm up and highlight your face.
[Dior Backstage Contour palette]
The Contour Palette is great for sculpting the face by way of matte shades that contain super fine texture to blend into the skin.
[Dior Backstage lip palette]
The Lip Palette contains three shades of volumizing gloss, three shades of satin-finish lipstick and three pigment-rich matte shades that may be used as a base, plumper, liner or lipstick.
The Eye Palettes contain both warm and cool colour shades plus a creamy-textured primer.
[Dior Backstage Dark Brow palette]
Philips also developed two Brow Palettes into which he slipped a setting wax and two powder shadows. Dark has warm shades (two chocolate tones plus one rosy wax); Light (two shades of cappuccino) is great for structuring lighter brows.
Alongside these palettes comes a range of foundation, concealer, powder, contour, blush, Kabuki, eyeshadow, eyeliner, double-ended brow and retractable lip brushes.
The collections are available at Dior counters nationwide and at Sephora.
