Dine Out Vancouver Festival’s menus and restaurant reservations went online this week and wow, how hard is it to select from the hundreds of restaurants – 288 to be exact – to events and food-themed experiences!
Now in its 14th year, Tourism Vancouver’s Dine Out Vancouver brings both urbanites and out-of-town foodies closer to our city’s seriously vibrant dining scene. Three-course menus are priced at $20, $30 and $40 (many offering optional BC VQA wine pairings); it’s hard to believe that this well-loved festival started with a *mere* 57 establishments back in 2003.
We’ve been looking through some of this year’s options and found a unique event that’s returned: Tea Gastronomy Experience. We’re longtime fans of West Georgia’s The Urban Tea Merchant; they’ve got some of the finest quality teas and even lovelier tea menus to pair with.

Stepping foot inside, you’re in for a colourful experience, with huge pink and lime green tea tins from floor to ceiling, beautifully designed and packaged gift tins plus gourmet sweets to take home to enjoy with their tea.
The Urban Tea Merchant’s five-course tea tasting and pairing menu will be offered on eight nights beginning on January 15. A selection of TWG teas will be paired with chef-selected dishes, each and every aspect of the meal incorporating tea.
The evening starts with a glass of their signature tea-infused cocktail followed by courses selected by The Urban Tea Merchant’s own tea sommelier. If you love beautifully prepared and tasteful dishes – and tea – this event won’t disappoint.
