The crazy fun duo of Astrid and Otto Rot, otherwise known as Die Roten Punkte are headed back in Vancouver! They’ll be performing a series of shows at The Cultch beginning on August 2. I had the chance to interview these two last year ahead of the Vancouver International Fringe Festival. They claim to have played with Courtney Love, gotten into shoe fights with Courtney Love, and generally would love it if Brian Eno or David Bowie would come on stage with them someday. Crazy sibling antics and makeup aside, you’re in for a treat when these two perform. I’ve seen them several times. Get ready to rock.
Known worldwide as Berlin’s ‘Prince and Princess of Indie Rock’, they’ve sold out shows from New York to Sydney, now touring in support of their third album, Kunst Rock (Art Rock). Their songs are ridiculous and campy but you’ll never stop watching them. “The Red Dots” are coming your way and there’s no turning back!
