Culture Club

In case you’ve not yet heard, 80’s new wave wonders Culture Club are now on tour and performing two shows in the Lower Mainland this summer. All original members will be in tow – Boy George, Mikey Craig, Roy Hay and Jon Moss – with the tour kicking off at the Hard Rock Casino Vancouver on Friday, July 17 followed by a River Rock Casino Resort show the following night. This is the first time in 15 years that the band’s played together in North America!

Formed in 1981 in London, Culture Club rocketed to international fame after the release of their #1 single, Do You Really Want to Hurt Me the following year. They went on to achieve nine Top 10 singles in the US and Canada selling over 50 million albums worldwide. Additional chart-topping smash hits include I’m Afraid of Me, Time (Clock of the Heart), I’ll Tumble 4 Ya, Church of the Poison Mind, Karma Chameleon, Miss Me Blind, It’s a Miracle and The War Song.

“Culture Club is a living soap opera and at times I have to pinch myself because it is beyond madness.” – Boy George, 1999

Although the group eventually parted their separate ways in 1986, Boy George remains a global icon. In addition to the comeback tour, he and the band have recorded a new studio album, Tribes, set for release later this year, featuring their lead single, More Than Silence. We’re looking forward to hearing seeing them back on stage after all these years!

There are still tickets available for both shows, priced at $129.50 general admission and $149.50 reserved balcony (both prices excluding service charges). For more information and to purchase tickets, visit both Hard Rock Casino Vancouver and River Rock online.
