Vancouver wifi map

In case you’ve not heard the news, the City of Vancouver has expanded its WiFi network to include most neighbourhoods across the city. Partnering with Shaw, this new expansion makes it one of the biggest in North America.

You’ll find free WiFi hubs at over 500 locations. It’s easy to get online; even better, you don’t need to disclose any personal information in order to use the network.

– Select the VanWiFi network name from your device’s WiFi settings menu
– Open your browser and you will be automatically re-directed to the WiFi terms and conditions page. Read through and click the button to accept.
– You’ll then be re-directed to the VanWiFi home page and be set to browse the internet.

This is ideal for visitors and residents alike. WiFi areas now include:

– Broadway (Oak to Cambie)
– Commercial Drive (Venables to 1st Ave)
– Davie Street (Jervis to Burrard)
– Denman Street (from Davie to W. Georgia)
– Downtown Eastside
– Gastown
– Granville Street (from Drake to Cordova)
– Main Street (Broadway to E. 16th Ave)
– Robson Street (from Denman to Burrard)

Additionally, all 125 Mobi by Shaw Go bike station locations are now free WiFi hotspots. According to the City, about 550 hubs are active with more to come in the near future.
