Canada Goose

I recently had the chance to virtually visit Canada Goose’s Toronto headquarters and check out a sampling of their latest gear for fall and winter. This season’s theme is ‘an ode to the outdoors’, combined with the company’s HUMANATURE philosophy, to both inspire and enable people to thrive in the outdoors while focusing on the experience.

Unpredictable weather, from Vancouver’s wet and chilly days to Winnipeg’s frigid winter brings to mind layering options and Canada Goose recently introduced new lightweight pieces in their Knitwear Collection, including the men’s Welland Sweater and women’s Belleville Hoody.

The Belleville Hoody (CAD $450) is constructed with midnight Merino wool and has an articulated rib-knit design to reduce bulk while adding comfort. The drop-shoulder construction adds to the relaxed fit. As for the Italian-made Welland Sweater (CAD $395), this one too contains mid-weight Merino wool, an articulated rib-knit design and adjustable knit hood. In fact, it’s pretty much the men’s counterpart to the Belleville.

Both the Cypress Puffer and Roxboro Coat are a couple of great staples for women. The hip-length Cypress Puffer ($950) is made of recycled feather-light Ripstop fabric and is packable into its own bag! The down-filled adjustable hood with cord lock assures a warm and cozy fit for windy, chilly temps too.

I love it when companies such as Canada Goose integrate intelligent features into their products: Both these jackets have removable elasticized interior backpack straps so you can wear it over your shoulders hands-free when inside those heated shopping malls in winter.

The below knee-length Roxboro Coat (CAD $995) gets an updated look via its lustrous cross-dye fabric. This one has zippered side gussets for added range of motion and ventilation when moving between frosty and not-so-frosty temperatures. The ultra lightweight channel fill construction uses lightweight fabrics and trim for weightless warmth — perfect for Vancouver’s inclement weather.
