“Two festivals, one pub, and a great way to spend a Saturday.”

Women and Beer II/VCBW

What’s better than one event? Two of course! CAMRA Vancouver and Malone’s Urban Drinkery are teaming up this year to present Oktoberfest and Harvestfest.

The Creaking Planks
[The Creaking Planks]

Head on down to Malone’s Urban Drinkery to enjoy all the merriment of Oktoberfest, taking place in two rooms. The main room’s festivities will include musical entertainment from local favourites The Creaking Planks, prizes for best costume, a yodeling contest and Oktoberfest-themed beers.

The lounge hall’s focus will be on the rich and flourishing flavours of the changing season – pumpkins, imperials, fresh hops, earthy, seasonals and full flavoured ales. Both rooms will feature casks and kegs.

Malone’s Urban Drinkery will pair the unique beer styles with food to complete the experience. Here’s the pairing menu items on offer for purchase during the event:

– Handmade pretzels with traditional mustard cheese dipping sauce ($5)
– Chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes, braised red cabbage, and chicken gravy ($9)
– Slow-cooked pork loin and sauerkraut stew, with fresh baked bread ($9)
– Field Roast brand vegetarian or traditional bratwurst, with house made mustard and fries ($8)
– Potato pancakes with three dipping sauces ($6)
– Pumpkin pie ($3.50)
– Stout floats ($6)

Oktoberfest and Harvestfest
Date and Time: Saturday October 15, noon to 6 pm
