Many of us are wondering how we can make a small difference to help the victims of last month’s horrific disaster in Japan. A generous handful of food-loving Vancouverites have put together a tasty, social way to raise funds.

Bake for the Quake banner

Bake for the Quake will take place on April 20th at the Roundhouse Community Arts & Recreation Centre (181 Roundhouse Mews) in Yaletown. From 6-8:30 pm, enjoy an assortment of goodies created with love by some of the Lower Mainland’s most awesome and dedicated bakers, participate in both a raffle draw and silent auction, and enjoy music and refreshments.

Parking and Transit

– Parking: Underground pay parking is available (access off Drake Street) for $1.50 per hour until 6 pm, and $3 max. thereafter.
– Transit options: Canada Line Yaletown Roundhouse Station. Upon exiting, head Southeast on Davie towards Pacific Blvd., then turn right at Pacific to locate the Roundhouse entrance.

Baked goods for sale

Please bring cash only for purchases and resizable containers/shopping bags.

Proceeds raised will be given to Doctors without Borders. Melody Fury (of GourmetFury.com) and Joy (Gourmeted.com) will be your lovely hostesses for the event. Spread the word and come hungry! Better yet, if you’d like to help, contact the team for event sponsorship and volunteer opportunities.
