David Gaines as 7x1 Samurai

David Gaines from Arlington, West Virginia puts on a one-man epic story of Seven Samurai.

Here was my chance to learn about his latest Vancouver International Fringe Festival show, described as a mashup of Akira Kurosawa’s 1954 Seven Samurai, the Hollywood remake, The Magnificent Seven, and both Looney Tunes and Warner Brothers cartoons.

For the first time at the Fringe, a Clown Conference will be held on Thursday, September 16, at 7:00 p.m. at the St. Ambroise Fringe Bar at Agro Café. David Gaines will be on the panel, along with fellow performers Chris Gibbs, Alice Nelson, and Jacqueline Russell.

I so loved this show! I hope David will make his way back here next year for the 2011 Fringe. Already missing the Fringe. Seemed to have flown by this year. They always do.
